The Pornography Problem

Over the last few months I have had a lot of people ask me about all of the writing I have done on the epidemic of pornography.  Many are searching for material they can give to mothers, fathers, friends, boyfriends, and husbands to better understand or address the escalating problem of porn addiction.  Below I have pulled all of those blogs together so that they are easier for you to access.  My prayer is that these writings begin to help everyone involved with, and affected by, the pornography problem.

Porn (Act 1)

“Someone recently told me that lust has such a presence and power in the life of men…that we should just quit trying to fight it…and just ask God continually for forgiveness. And while this may seem an outlandish claim to many women…there are many men that have already done that.”

Porn (Act 2)

“There is nothing that can fracture, break, scar, wound, devalue, and objectify people more than lust and it’s outward manifestation.”

How Porn is Stealing the Soul of a Generation

“Either we positively and proactively face head-on the debasement and perversion that is desensitizing and dehumanizing our youth- or- we will soon face a generation that has lost it’s soul.”

3 Things I Want My Son to Know About Porn

“I never thought I would ever write anything with the title- 3 Things I Want My Son to Know About Porn. But, after being caught off guard and completely surprised nearly two years ago with my first son, the reality of him growing up in an era supersaturated in sex hit me like a ton of bricks.”

A Father’s Letter to His Daughters

“The truth is that your beauty does not come from the make-up you wear, the style of your hair, the curviness of your body, the perfection of your skin, or the youthfulness of your appearance. Your beauty comes solely from the radiance of God in the way that you humbly and lovingly let God work through your life.”

3 Reasons Every Mom Needs to Talk to Her Son About Porn

“My son needs to hear the voice of his father shaping how he grows up viewing women and valuing relationships, but it is equally important for him to hear about sexuality from another perspective- a perspective that can only come from a mother.”

  1. Brandon, I’m not sure if you’re aware of this site, but thought you might want to check it out. I don’t agree with the evolutionary explanation they take (it’s a secular site) but it it has lots of good information about the science behind pornography and masturbation addiction. It also has some potentially helpful advice for overcoming it.
